Q. Do you take requests or commissions?
A. Yes. You can read more itinerae.shop's commission page or request a certain type of layout / graphics here.
Q. How long does it take you to create a layout?
A. Often a whole day or even two, It depends on whether I have a clear vision of what I want to do and whether it changes along the way. I work on some layouts for weeks if I don't have a clear vision or get bored along the way.
It takes a lot of time to find graphics, and it also takes time to clean up the code so that the layout is ready for publication.
Tell me about your AI usage?
My feelings about AI are a bit mixed / contradictory. I personally prefer hand-coding websites, as I think they feel much more personal that way.
Some of my newer layouts are made with a little AI assistance (or with the help of online CSS generators) during the development process, mainly for things like structure, troubleshooting and scripts.
Every layout is still heavily edited, styled and refined by hand. I adjust all the smallest details myself, so taking a design from an early draft to the finished version can takehoursdays.
Q. Is it OK to copy the current layout of Itinerae?
A. In short, no. I have here many free layouts, go there if you need one. Taking inspiration is OK. If you want to look at the source code to see how something is done (and copy it for yourself) that's perfectly fine too.
Copying the entire layout completely / big chunks of it / keeping base code and editing just texts/content is something I don't allow / like and I'll never understand.

Q. Why is your site located on Blogger?
A. There was once a site called BlogSkins. People could post their own blogger templates there. That website was huge inspiration for me. I have had a (private/friends only) blog on Blogger since 2008.
I am so used to the Blogger interface that i have never felt like moving my sites anywhere else. I like that i don't have to add the whole layout separately to each page. I just edit the blog "posts" as I want.
Q. How did you create this site on Blogger?
A. I use Blogger's "classic templates". Not any XML or such. I only need a small piece of Blogger's own code, otherwise I code the site like anyone else.
